Foods Affects Mood

Food can affect our mood and what we eat and when we eat can impact depression. Everyone feels depressed at some time, but when depression deepens or persists for a long time, it can decrease our energy for living and make us more prone to disease as it affects our immune system.

When we are depressed because of some reason appetite is less with more craving for sweets and caffeine products. Generally people prefer to take lots of sweets, chocolates. It is also found that some people drink more tea or coffee in depressed mood whereas some people prefer smoking and drinking alcohol to come out of depression, but this is not solution at all as these things boost ups mood for just shorter period and when their effect decreases leave person with more felling down.

It is also found that vitamin deficiency in body also affects mood especially B vitamin and folic acid.

Complex carbohydrates such as Pancakes, oatmeal, pasta, baked potatoes can help a person keep depressed moods under control as they elevate brain levels of serotonin which is helpful to control mood.

Omeg3 fatty acid deficiency in nervous system affects mood which is more fund in fish like tuna, salmon.

So when we are in depressed mood we should prefer to take
Plenty of fresh green vegetables and fresh fruits
Fish in our diet at least once or twice in a week
Pancakes, pasta, baked potatoes

We should take vitamin supplement if necessary and along with food some exercise or yoga will also help us to keep our mood bouncing.

We should avoid or take in minimum
Different form of sweets
Junk food
Avoid coffee, alcohol
Avoid processed food that contains artificial color or preservatives

Thus by making few changes in our daily life we can keep our mood full of energy and life.
